On what do you base that on?, the older ones, say pre 95 are no diffirent to any other fourby
I have owned 4,thus i know
All it takes is a few phone calls to get good priced parts
If you take it to a dealer u will get ripped hugely but to a specialist or aftermarket supplier no probs.
They are awesum offroad and parts are reasonable if you ring around.
Reliability is dependant upon whether you follow the recomended servicing schedule or not, simple as that.

Anyway thats my opinion,i currently own an 89 model, best yet.

There no more expensive to keep on the road as a 60 at least the roof dont rust off em all ya need to do is find a good supplyer of parts as there are plenty places that will rip you off and charge double what the parts are worth these are usualy mobs which sell parts for all makes of 4x4 .....

If ya mate buys one and has dramas geting the right parts or the right service send me a pm id be happy to help out a fellow landy driver ...

Also i aggree with the others on the fitment of LPG tho i much prefer the last of the phase 1 rangies late 84 mod these have simple electrics no bullsh1t EFI and can be sorted quite easy run a modyfied holly with a new gen mixer and have the best of both worlds will run great on gas and pety tho you will need to mod the dizzy and retune it each time you switch from one to the other best to set it for gas and keep it on gas ....

The best mod ya can doto a rangie is be rid of the points if it has them and fit a crane fireball optical set up this will give you trouble free motoring and wont need tuning each week .....
Cheers chris
