input on a 1996 landrover discovery

im thinking about picking up a 1996 landrover disco v8 just wanting some back ground on these

how big a v8 are we talking for a 1996?

whats feul consumption like on normal petrol as well as gas?

anything major to look out for wether it mechanical or electrical

whats a good price for these to pay
one im loooking at has 240,000+ ks

any anything else you think is worth knowing about

3.9l for a 96 disco mate, I deal with discos all day at work, the main thing that let them down is all the electrical crap

if it is on gas, check the air flow meter

and dont worry about oil, they all leak

They are a good car for the price, as said 1996 will have a 3.9ltr injected motor (good motor), if it's manual it will have a decent gearbox, r380 5 speed mated to an lt230 transfer which are also pretty good:smile:
If an auto it will be a zf which are known for their strength, also mated to the lt230 tranasfer.
The only let down will be the fuel consumption, not very good:frown:
