hey all
just a problem my speedo started to stuff up, give it a hit and it works again
but the fuel gauge didn't come back, is this a common problem or do I just get a new one?
cheers

must be a common problem, mine works most days but occasionally it just drops the needle for a day or two, then it usually comes good. probobally a bad earth

hey thanks for that black mav
just pulled the dash off this weekend... but I couldn't find a break in any solder, all the copper lines look ok on the back of the speedo and the wires into the conection seem OK too but the fuel gauge is still not working at all
the speedo comes and goes just need to give the top a bash and it starts again, I wasn't expeciting all the electrics on the back I thought it would be easy to know which one is the fuel gauge
there are three screws on the back of the fuel gauge, would they have anything to do with the problem?
cheers again

U definitely have a bad joint somewhere if u can give it a "tap" and it works again. It may be non-visible to the naked eye but maybe if u had a magnifying glass, and checked the solder joints then u may be able to find it. I dont believe the screws would be of any concern as they are usually either adjustment/calibration screws or fixing screws. Best of luck finding it.

Cheers for that frank,
I haven't gotten a chance to take it off again but went to wattigan state forrest and the mud has gotten it working again!!!
but the radiator is clogged again and heating up so one problem fixed and another one comes around!!!!
looks like instead of the fuel gauge being fixed its time to pull the radiator out and clean it again!!! grr
thanks for the help Frank
Cheers
